Scaling without burning domains
Scaling is the most common road to a burned domain: '1000 emails a day from one domain = faster'. The result: deliverability dies in 2 weeks, the campaign returns to zero. Scale requires infrastructure, not enthusiasm: more domains, a cleaner list, better content.
Scaling in 4 layers:
- TOOLS: an email tool (Instantly, Smartlead, EmailTool, Lemlist) — sending, sequences, email verification, warmup, domain rotation; the cost grows with volume, but it's a price for safety,
- DOMAINS: each domain is ~30-50 emails/day at the start (after warmup up to 50-
- ; you want 300/day → 3-4 domains; domains with similar names (yourcompany.com, yourcompany-pl.com, yourcompany.io),
- LIST: cleaning and verification at scale (dedup, SMTP check, segmentation),
- CONTENT: AI produces variants (subject, opener, CTA) for each segment — but ALWAYS from research (spinners changing 1 word aren't personalization — they're a spam risk). The scale rule: 20% of sending is new topics/segments, 80% is repeats of what works (tests from module
- . AI at scale: L3-L4 personalization from research (not spinning), follow-up variants, list cleaning, reports.
Goal: 100 emails/day. Setup: 3 domains (yourcompany.com, yourcompany-pl.com, yourcompany-io.com), each ~35/day. Tool: Instantly (verification + warmup + rotation). List: 300 verified leads, segmentation: 2 segments (agencies / ecommerce). AI: for each segment 10 L4 opener variants from research, follow-ups by the module 6 sequence. After a month: 6% replies, 1.1% bounces, no domain burned. Scale was possible because infrastructure grew with volume.
You are a cold email scaling architect. Context: I want to send [X] emails/day. I have [Y] domains. Budget: [Z] /month for tools. Currently: [CAMPAIGN STATUS]. Task: Plan the scaling: 1. How many domains I need (assuming 30-50/day per domain) + proposed names 2. Tools: what to choose by budget (sending, verification, warmup, rotation) 3. A list plan at scale: cleaning, verification, segmentation 4. AI's role in content: what AI produces (variants from research) and what NOT to do (word spinning) 5. A timeline: 30 days of scaling (volume per week, new domains) 6. Monitoring metrics at scale (what to track daily) Format: 6 sections.
Variations & alternative scenarios
Modest version: 1 domain, 30-50/day, no paid tools.
Full version: multi-domain + a dedicated tool + list automation.
Practical exercise
Write down your volume goal (X emails/day). Calculate how many domains you need (30-50/day per domain). Pick a tool by budget and write a 30-day volume distribution plan.
